As a firm that is inherently connected to the broader Durban community, our Corporate Social Responsibility programme is an important part of what we do. With our broad pool of legal skills, as well as personal talents of our staff, we are able to engage with the community through selected social responsibility initiatives, rather than simply donating money. We are currently involved in a number of projects, including supporting the Wentworth Victim Friendly Unit which assists vulnerable members of the public with counselling and assistance, following traumatic events; sponsoring study assistance for a well deserving law student who has been historically disadvantaged and providing daily meals to students at a local disadvantaged high school.
In addition to identified CSR projects, our staff are also enthusiastic supporters and participants of annual initiatives such as Casual Day and Santa’s Secret Shoebox.
Our team of professionals are also committed to various Pro Bono Practices which assist deserving and worthy causes within their communities.
Cox Yeats is the sponsor of the annual monetary merit Corporate Law Award for the top final year student at the University of Pietermaritzburg and the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This award is done to promote the study of law, as well as encourage and recognise promising law students.
