Kiyura obtained her LLB (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2018. She is currently studying towards a LLM in Business Law. During her time at UKZN, Kiyura was a member of the Students for Law and Social Justice (SLSJ), and in her final year she tutored Constitutional Law. She is eager to gain practical experience in those areas of law that captured her attention as a young student. Understanding the value of education, Kiyura respects the importance of hard work, determination and developing a disciplined approach to one’s work.

During her time at UKZN, Kiyura received two substantial academic scholarships, was selected to participate in the semi-final of the Ellie Newman Moot Competition (2018) and was awarded the Golden Key International Honour Society membership. She received a Phatshoane Henney Group Honour Medal for graduating cum laude.

Kiyura joined Cox Yeats in 2021 and will be serving her articles as member of the Maritime and Insurance Team.
