Emili Souris is a seasoned property attorney with over 36 years of experience, Partner and Head of the Property Team at Cox Yeats’ Sandton office. Her legal career has been deeply rooted in property law since her admission as a conveyancer in 1991, driven by a longstanding passion for property as an asset class. Emili has advised a wide range of clients—including financial institutions, developers, and individual investors—on all aspects of property transactions and conveyancing. Before joining Cox Yeats, she held leadership roles at prominent firms, including Routledge (later Routledge-Modise, Eversheds, Hogan Lovells, and Lawtons), where she served as Partner and Head of the Real Estate Department in Johannesburg from 1998 to 2020. She began her legal journey at Moss Cohen & Partners in 1986, completing her articles and becoming a partner in 1990.
