Bryhton is an Associate at Cox Yeats, practising in Maritime, International Trade and Insurance Law.
He joined the firm in 2024 as a Candidate Legal Practitioner and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in April 2026, following which he was appointed as an Associate.
His practice focuses on insurance law, with experience in both general and marine insurance. He regularly acts for major South African insurers and international clients, advising on policy interpretation, insurance claims, and recovery actions against third parties. He also represents insurers in litigation, including pursuing claims under subrogated rights and defending claims brought against insurers or their insureds.
Bryhton has further experience in maritime and international trade matters, including marine transport disputes and shipping litigation. He advises on international trade transactions, with particular emphasis on customs and excise, port tariffs, standard conditions of carriage, and standard conditions of sale. His experience also includes involvement in commercial transactions and the drafting of commercial agreements.
He is a member of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa and the Insurance Institute of KwaZulu-Natal.
