Benjamin is a Partner at Cox Yeats, practising in Corporate and Commercial Law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, competition law, and regulatory compliance.

He advises on a wide range of corporate transactions, from the negotiation of initial terms and deal structuring to funding and security arrangements, due diligence processes, regulatory filings, and post-closing matters.

Benjamin has extensive experience in competition law, including advising on merger notifications, the applicability of South African merger control requirements to complex structures, and complaints to the Competition Commission. He also advises on the competition law implications of business practices and contractual arrangements, including amending agreements to ensure compliance.

In addition, he provides strategic advice on corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, licensing, and operational commercial agreements.

Benjamin also has experience in commercial dispute resolution, which informs his practical and commercially focused approach to transactional matters. He has particular experience in the agricultural, petroleum, logistics, and property sectors.

He is an author of the South African chapter of the ICLG Mergers and Acquisitions publication and the current author of the LexisNexis publication, A Step-by-Step Guide to Providing Access to Information.
