Jason Goodison

Partner

Jason is a Partner at Cox Yeats, practising in Corporate and Commercial Law, with a focus on commercial transactions, private equity, and regulatory advisory.

He joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney in 2011, having completed his LL.B, cum laude, and was appointed as a Partner in 2015 after practising as an Associate in the Commercial team.

Jason advises on complex commercial transactions and disputes across a range of industries. He is a Companies Act specialist and has extensive experience in structuring businesses and private equity funds across South Africa, including cross-border and offshore transactions.

He has acted for major South African banks, advising on large commercial funding transactions, the development of commercial precedents, and the structuring of financing arrangements.

Jason also advises on regulatory matters, including merger notifications to the Competition Commission, applications to the Takeover Regulation Panel, and notifications to the B-BBEE Commission.

He is a co-author of several LexisNexis publications and is actively involved in community initiatives and pro bono work. He also serves as a governor of Highbury Preparatory School.
